The Little Gods

The Little Gods, 2016, is a collection of National Gallery postcards of the Madonna and Child from which I have redacted all but the child with a black marker pen. It began as a prompt to the question by a group of mother artists ‘What is left of the mother artist after motherhood?’ and developed into a sideways swipe at the patriarchal, Christian influenced expectations of women who are parents.
