A beautiful technicolour print of my original vintage paper collage. This series of collages celebrates the vibrant colour of vintage print sourced from Hollywood fan annuals and early full colour publications of flowers and plants.
Muse features a technicolour statuesque Hollywood bombshell in a muted black and white classical setting. In these collages I’m interested in goddesses, screen and classical, and their longevity in our visual memories. Their impact on ideas of beauty and women’s self image, along with their significance in historical visual culture. Also I just love the clashing beauty of these colours! I used a paper weaving technique in the original collage to create the fractured layers of collaged flowers.
Available as a beautiful giclée print on a smooth textured off-white Hahnemühle paper, including a border ready for framing. This velvety matt paper was chosen to compliment the texture of the original vintage collage papers used to make this piece.
